Samsung may soon launch Galaxy Z Flip7 and Z Fold7, may get One UI 8 support right out of the box

Samsung’s One UI 7 update rollout strategy has not made the users very happy this time. Earlier, while Samsung was known for providing its Android updates on time, this time, it has lagged far behind Google. While Google is close to releasing Android 16 for Pixel devices, Samsung has not yet been able to start the rollout of One UI 7 based on Android 15.

For information, let us tell you that the One UI 7 update will start on April 7 for the Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy Z Fold6, and Z Flip6. The rest of the devices will get this update gradually.

Meanwhile, good news has come out. According to a report by SamMobile, Samsung can launch its new foldable smartphones – Galaxy Z Flip7 and Galaxy Z Fold7 with One UI 16 based on Android 8 right out of the box. If this happens, it is expected that the rollout of One UI 8 for the rest of the devices will start faster than One UI 7.

Apart from this, it is also likely that Samsung will launch its new Galaxy Z Flip7 and Z Fold7 smartphones in June or July 2025, that is, a few weeks after Google launches the stable version of Android 16. Google is going to host the I/O 2025 event on May 20 and 21 this year, where all the information related to Android 16 will be revealed.

However, it is not yet clear whether Samsung will bring any beta program for One UI 8. If the beta program comes, the Galaxy S25 series may be the first to benefit from it.

With Galaxy Z Flip7 and Z Fold7 One UI 8, not only software, some changes can also be seen in hardware. According to reports, the Galaxy Z Flip7 can have a full-screen cover display like the Moto Razr Ultra, while its affordable variant, the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE, can come in a classic folder-like style. At the same time, the Galaxy Z Fold7 will have a design similar to the Galaxy Z Fold6 but it will be offered with a thinner and larger display.
